Notes on Leadership from D3820’s Recent Webinar

Together with our Champion District Governor Everett Olivan and Lady Maryselle Olivan, the Rotary Club of San Pedro South (RCSPS) spearheaded another successful seminar entitled “Transforming Rotarians Amidst A Pandemic: A Service Leadership Webinar” last May 28, 2020.

The pandemic has caused a worldwide economic slowdown, numerous social and economic changes in the environment, tourism and almost all sectors of life. And yes, this includes paradigm shifting in leadership. According to PP Lzl Manalo Castro-Ampatuan, it all begins with a question: how do we lead?

PDG Den Oinus reiterated that we must lead with dedication, allegiance to a cause, innovation and the Big C…Commitment.
DDG Ferdinand Macababbad highlighted the need for the number one trait in leadership which is the will to govern. Like him, DDG Alex Reuyan and DGA Ericson Hernandez continuously rise to the occasion. ChP Anessa Arao Paño of Radyo Rotaryo even mentioned her chock-full projects.

Internally, TP Guia de Leon commended RCSPS babies, Rotaract San Pedro South and Interact Adelina 1 NHS, for incorporating ICT as part of the solution in this “new normal.” Thank you, PE Regan Maharjan of RAC Himalaya Patan, for the powerful presentation.
Rtn Hassan Al zahab of RC Sydney was right, “We are all in this together and it’s important to follow the authorities in instructions.”

Finally, PP Joel Cacanindin of TM Metro Lipa reminded us all that “we learn best in moments of enjoyment.”

And TP de Leon adds, “we lead best in moments of great love and compassion.”
