Rotary supports NPDR Week 2020

In solidarity with the 42nd celebration of the National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (NDPR) week, Rotary Club of Metro Kalibo takes part in culminating event

Inspired by what she learned about blending of colors and more art skills, plain housewife and mother Mrs. Loremie R. Rodriguez is proud to share that her dream to be an artist is slowly being revealed. She used to be discriminated. Now even her children is very much inspired and proud of her and her outputs.

The PWD Balete Association is composed of 410 registered differently-abled children and adults. Another sector “Artist PWD Circle” has been created out of them. This is through the hardwork of PWDs Elmer Dalida and Woody Francisco, supported by SB Nono Inocentes Nhono F. Bantigue Jr., Committee Chairman on Social Services tandem with his Vice-Chairman SB Agnes Del Rosario Recidoro. Of course, all these were made possible through the active and generous assistance of the honorable Mayor Dexter M. Calizo.

“Creating ideas and putting it to action amidst the struggle of the COVID-19 pandemic is a positive approach to not give up on life. You have diligently inspired our community and us by your hardwork and perseverance using your talents. We are one with you,” said Mayor Calizo.

Rotary Club of Metro Kalibo President Rosie Reyes also gave her inspirational speech in appreciation of the partnership, as fellow member Ricky Molo diligently mentored the said association for four consecutive weekends in order to enhance and come up with the most impressive output during the culminating program and exhibits.

As Balete PWD Association President Elmer described it, “We are not left behind. Inspite of our limitations and with the support of LGU Balete and God Almighty for giving us more reasons and time to live, we will continue to love and serve.”
