RCZC Central plants trees with partner Rotaract club

Rotary Club of Zamboanga City Central (RCZC Central) partnered with Rotaract Club UZ-CES once more to build trees for a more food secure community in the future

Together with the Rotaract Club UZ-CES, RCZC Central conducted another Tree Planting activity at Sitio Canucutan, Pasonanca. In some way, planting trees speaks to all of the areas of focus. Research has shown that trees are good for economic and community development – they increase property values. Planting a tree promotes peace simply by giving people a place to sit in the shade and contemplate about the world.

Trees are also good for disease prevention and treatment because the world is a healthier place with more trees to produce oxygen and absorb carbon dioxide.

In many ways, trees can be related to all of Rotary’s Areas of Focus with supporting the environment on top. RCZC Central visited the area to also check the growth of the trees they planted years back as well as do some site cleaning.
