Rotary Clubs of Batangas and Manila South host a webinar on eliminating cervical cancer

Together with CerviQ, the Rotary Club (RC) of Batangas of Rotary International District (RID) 3820 and RC Manila South of RID 3810 spearheaded a powerful webinar about Cervical Cancer last January 15. The webinar was entitled “World Health Organization’s Call to Eliminate Cervical Cancer”

The webinar displayed unity among the Transforming Presidents under the leadership of District Governor Renato Sarmiento Atienza.

Doctor Randy “Bogs” Rivera, a Rad Onco Proponent from CerviQ and Past President of RC Manila South, thoroughly discussed the statistics, the details and the prevention for this type of cancer. Accordingly, for the first time, the world has committed to eliminate a cancer.

Most importantly, the speaker inspired attendees to help end this cancer by supporting the screening and glow ideals. Simply by connecting with the local government units and/or sponsors, applying for Global Grants especially for mobile vans, sponsoring or guesting in CerviQ TV, Rotarians can create a positive impact on the community for this noble cause.

One such example was Project: Ribbons of the RCSPS family, Interact Club of Adelina 1 National High School, Rotaract San Pedro South and Rotaract San Pedro All Star. The project held last November 2020 sought to spread cervical cancer awareness last November 2020. Simply by distributing free ribbons in the community, with the help of Alagang Kalusugan Inc., Kiwanis Club of Maharlika, and Serbisyong Maypuso, the team has shown its support in the crusade of the World Health Organization (WHO) to eliminate a cancer.

Transforming President (TP) Guia Lopez de Leon of RC San Pedro South, TP RJ Triviño Manalo of RC San Juan, TP Amy Lea of RC Lucena University District, TP Fatima Gammad Acuña of RC Lipa West, TP Ricky Rosales of RC Atimonan Sunrise, TP Dey Garcia-Dionido of RC Atimonan Lakambini, TP Jeanette Rodelas of RC Metro San Pedro, TP Brigette Oliveros Arroyo of RC Cavinti, among many others, wholeheartedly supported this project of TP Maria Jenny Untalan of RC Batangas.
