Rotary holds Public Image Awards

Rotary brings together a global network of volunteer leaders who dedicate their time and talent to tackle the world’s most pressing humanitarian challenges

Last January 25, the Regional Rotary Public Image Committee of Zone 10A held the much-awaited Rotary Public Image Awards.

The virtual awarding ceremony started with the invocation led by Assistant Regional Public Image Coordinator (ARPIC)/Past District Governor (PDG) Tito Enriquez which was followed by the playing of the National Anthems of Germany, USA, Taiwan and the Philippines.

Regional Public Image Coordinator/PDG Rey Castillo welcomed the present Rotarians and introduced the event’s keynote speakers, Rotary International (RI) President Holger Knaack, Past RI President Mark Maloney, RI Director Surgeon Liu, and Past RI Director Raffy Garcia III. As Guests of Honor, they all gave inspiring messages.

ARPIC/Past President (PP) Lzl Ampatuan discussed the Essence and Rules of the Contest. ARPIC/PDG Ernie Choa introduced the Past RI President Mark Maloney who commended the Rotarians for all the humanitarian efforts despite the pandemic.

PP Marissa Camacho then introduced the Board of Judges. The jury was composed of PDG/Chief Editor Sonny Coloma, Coca-Cola Foundation President Cecile Alcantara, and Public Image Coordinator Specialist Nina Hazhala.

For the Best Photo, the winners are:

For the Best People of Action Video, the victors are:

1. Rotary Club of Cabanatuan North
2. District 3770
3. Rotary Club of Makati Premier

For the Best Public Image Projects:
1. Rotary Club of Circuit Makati
2. Rotary Club of Naga
3. Rotary Club of Vigan

All finalists were given Certificates of Appreciation signed by RPIC Rey Castillo. Rotarians Michael Lapina and Joey Lina rendered heartwarming songs during the program.

ARPIC/PDG Jess Cifra then introduced RI Director Surgeon Liu who gave his congratulatory and response message.

It was ARPIC/PDG Jojo de Guia who closed the awarding ceremony with a quote by Mahatma Gandhi, “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”

Special thanks to the moderators APRIC/PDG Jaypee Cadaing, Technical Officer Charlotte Cruz and the rest of RPIC team for the success of the event. Again, congratulations to all the winners!
