Toys from Us: A Gift Giving Project From and For the Youngsters

Last January 12 to 17, Transforming President (TP) Guia Lopez de Leon of the Rotary Club of San Pedro South (RCSPS) and TP Jiro Lizarda of the Interact Club of Adelina 1 National High School spearheaded another gift giving project entitled “Toys From Us.”

Together with four more Interactors namely Julie Sagcal, Erica Jane Gonzales, Edison Pines, and Jose Dinurog, the team roamed around San Pedro City and looked for deserving beneficiaries. The team wanted to extend the holiday cheers by sharing hundreds of pre-loved toys and school supplies from TP Guia and Project Chair/Past President Rey Bongao.

This project truly served as another milestone for the RCSPS family, including the Rotaract Club of San Pedro South and Rotaract Club of San Pedro All Star, because generosity became more focused on what the beneficiaries truly wanted to receive. All of them were given ample time to choose which toy caught their fancy. The parents or guardians were also given face shields sponsored by President Elect Pyker Luthgard and President Nominee Kristina Tulauan of the Rotary Club of Santa Rosa West.

Moreover, TP Loveday Alyssa of the Rotary Club of Pinamalayan Central, TP Amy Lea of the Rotary Club of Lucena University District, and their respective Rotaract Clubs, are joining this monthly project despite the distance. In fact, they are all set to conduct a pre-Valentine activity.

Yes, the RCSPS family takes the spirit of sharing to even greater heights with more ways to make kids still happy even after the Yuletide Season. After all, Christmas Spirit will always be alive with true Rotarians, Rotaractors and Interactors serving and sharing above themselves.
