RCMK, RCC celebrate 116th Anniversary of Rotary International through planting mangroves

Last February 23, the Rotary’s 7th Area of Focus enabled Rotarians to strive in making their communities healthy and green places to live

In celebration of the 116th Founding Anniversary of Rotary International, Rotary Club of Metro Kalibo (RCMK), Rotary Community Corp (RCC) with Rotarian Adviser Past President Ricky Molo partnered with the Brgy. Dapdap Fisherfolks Association to plant more or less 50 mangrove propagules at Brgy. Dapdap, Tangalan in Aklan.

This was their significant contribution and a response to Rotary International President Holger Knaack’s call to action. As RIP Knaack said, “We have much work to do in economic, cultural and environmental sustainability.”

RCC or Rotary Community Corps is a group of non-Rotarians who share their commitment to changing the world through service projects. RCC members plan and carry out projects in their communities and support local Rotary club projects. Learn more about it at www.rotary.org
