The Rotary Project WALK fittings last July 15 was overwhelming with nine beneficiaries receiving their prosthetic legs.
The Rotary Foundation GG#2094262 Wishes of Aid and Limbs for Kids (WALK) by the Rotary Club of Forbes Park (D3830) and Rotary Club of Taoyuan North (D3502) Taiwan, with Rotary Club of Jefferson, Rotary Club of Fort Atkinson, Rotary Club of Lakemills, Rotary Club of Stoughton and Rotary Club of Watertown of District 6250 in Wisconsin, USA donated the 9 prosthesis endoskeletal legs.
Recipients included Ma. Cherry Sendon of Brgy. Jugas, New Washington, Aklan; Alevir Nabor of Laguinbanwa West, Numancia, Aklan; Geraldine Natabio of Brgy. Puis, New Washington, Aklan (her 2nd prosthesis leg after 2 years); Marilou Calabon of Brgy. Tiza, Roxas City, Capiz (also her 2nd prosthesis leg); Romy Lumawag of Brgy. Tondog, Tangalan, Aklan; Loremie Rodriguez of Brgy. Aranas, Balete, Aklan; Arnaldo Tabornal of Dongon West, Numancia, Aklan; Darwin Hapin of Brgy. Bulwang, Numancia, Aklan; and Johnny Nacionales of Brgy. Cawayan, New Washington, Aklan.
Rotary Club of Metro Kalibo is grateful for its major collaborators, the sister club Rotary Club of West Davao (D3860), WALK, Inc., WALK & WORKS (Iloilo), Aklan Sangguniang Panlalawigan through the Office of Vice Governor Atty. Reynaldo “Boy” Quimpo and Southwest Travel and Tours. The turnover event was also in cooperation with BB Cares and Rotary Club of Roxas (D3850) with media partners, Kalibo Cable TV Network and Love Radio.
