RCMK holds Diversity, Equity and Inclusion project

Rotary Club of Metro Kalibo recognizes the positive role of the youths in maintaining peace and security. Global peace and security is a cross-cutting issue that is critical to their young minds, therefore, the club trains them in understanding the causes of conflicts and the possibilities of finding peaceful solutions to them.

From October 11 to 15, 2021, the club’s partners in service initiated the week-long Youth Empowerment and Leadership Training under the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) by the 2nd Aklan Provincial Mobile Force Company. Rotary Club of Metro Kalibo (D3850) Public Image Director Past President Megs Lunn facilitated a lecture and workshops with the assistance of Rotaractor Mark Joseph Tungala. The week-long event includes obstacle courses, an anti-illegal drugs campaign, team building, slogan and poster making, tactical and survival techniques and reflection.

The event was also in collaboration with Aparicio Brgy. Council and SK, 12IB Phil Army, Rotaract Club of Metro Kalibo, Aparicio Elementary School and the Local Government Unit of Ibajay, Aklan.

Through Peace and Conflict Resolution with the understanding of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), we create an inclusive culture amidst diversity, where each person knows they are included and valued no matter what race, color, status, gender and sexuality they belong.

Thank you to the inspiring leadership of PMAJ Donnel P. Regis of 2nd APMFC and his hardworking team. Together, we will and we can, create and promote PEACE!
