Last October 1, the team served 150 vaccinated individuals of Barangays Pampango and Alfonso XII and inoculated 100 more from Barangays Manika and Oyang, Libacao, Aklan last October 7.
This is in response to Rotary’s slogan – GET VACCINATED “Protect Yourself to Protect Others” this RY 2021-2022 and in support to one of Rotary’s Areas of Focus – Disease Prevention and Treatment.
The team drove 31 kilometers through Libacao’s steep hills and narrow but beautiful mountains. Libacao is approximately 500 ft. (1,665 ms.) more or less, above sea level, in the eastern side of Aklan.
They are grateful to PRC Aklan for the opportunity to serve amidst the threat of pandemic. They joined the RCAT 143, other volunteers of Barangay Councils, and health workers of LGU and MHO Libacao. Men and women in uniform—MPS Libacao, 12th IB Cafgu and 1st Aklan Provincial Mobile Force (APMFC), also assisted in maintaining peace and order in the area too.
PRC Bakuna Bus is ably supported by Aklan Provincial Governor Florencio “Joeben” T. Miraflores and the Provincial Health Office.
Public Image Director/Past President Megs Lunn represented the club in lieu of Life-Changing President Loida M. Enero.
Special thanks to the club’s partners in service – Kiwanis Club of Kalibo Ati-Atihan, BB Cares of Bread and Butter and Aklan Food Chain Credit Cooperative, for distributing additional goodies and facemasks, and Media Partners Kalibo Cable TV Network and Love Radio.
