RC Metro Kalibo targets Sitio Tumansapa, a village with a population of 453 with 89 households, to mount Rotary Project WASH (Water for Life). The water source will be spring water from the mountaintop.
The project is in partnership with the club’s international partner and sister club-Rotary Club of Jefferson (D6250) Wisconsin, USA. Today, the club visited the site again to check its progress. The members were pleased to see that everything was in order. The spring water will come from the mountaintop to the tank reservoir where there are three different water faucets scattered down to the village to provide other households access to safe water. Other interventions are in progress.
The water reservoir will benefit the community around the village. Due to rainfall, the Club members cut their visit short to go to the source which is about an hour away from the tank. For now, they are glad to learn from the locals that they are content to have clean and potable water.

Vincent Cajilig and family, in cooperation with the Philippine Red Cross Aklan who did the community assessment, the club is grateful beyond words.
Life-Changing President Loida M. Enero, President Nominee Edwin L. Autencio and Director for Public Image and International Service Megs Lunn, led the visit and turn over today; also with a sidetrip to see some children and simultaneously did another project assessment in Sitio Tapuyay, Brgy. Cabugan and Sitio Lindero in Barangay Bagong-Bayan, Buruanga, Aklan, respectively.
Through one of its Areas of Focus on water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) programs, Rotary’s people of action mobilize resources, form partnerships, and invest in sustainable projects.
