This Philippines ended the year 2021 with the devastating impact of typhoon Odette on Southern Philippines and it galvanized Rotary Philippines to quickly respond with relief efforts for affected areas. We also welcomed 2022 not just with our normal celebratory get togethers but with the sudden surge of Covid cases brought about with the highly infectious Omicron variant. Suddenly, no family seems to have been spared and reports of positive cases among friends and family started flowing in at an alarming rate. Thankfully, we are seeing less severe cases but the reports continue to be a point of concern. We pray that everyone affected recover swiftly.
This issue also captures the tales of people escaping from the difficulties and challenges of their home countries and how some of these individuals as Rotarians and several Rotary Clubs are helping with the plight of these refugees.
