Is it possible to conduct projects serving the 7 Rotary Areas of Focus in just two days? Yes! RC Iloilo City and RAC Iloilo City successfully did it.
The Project ROYGBIV was held on March 18 and 19, 2022 at Barangay Alapasco, Municipality of Batad, Iloilo and Carles, Iloilo. More than 150 students, parents, and teachers benefited.
The projects were:
Start Up – Economic and Community Development
A livelihood activity where the clubs provided a set of raw materials to concoct a dishwashing liquid that can be produced in commercial quantities. An actual demonstration of the process was done.This is an entrepreneurial skill taught to the community.
Gatas ni Ina – Maternal and Child Health – A seminar about the importance and benefits of Breastfeeding was conducted to educate mothers.
Busog Lusog Talino – Basic Education and Literacy & Peace Conflict Resolution – This included a feeding program, storytelling, and games for children. The games engaged the children and they learned lessons about good values while having fun.
Roll the Canva Application – Economic and Community Development & Basic Education and Literacy – A training program was conducted for teachers to enhance their virtual teaching skills like creating certificates, posters, and other informative materials.
Brush, Brush, Brush, Hugas Aware – Disease Prevention and Treatment & Water and Sanitation – The children were given a lecture on the importance of dental and hand hygiene. Dental and hygiene kits were also distributed.
Mareng Mari-trees – Environment – The clubs planted trees beside a school as part of their forestation activity.
Clean up, Beach! – Environment – Beach clean up was done at the picturesque tourist destination, Isla Gigantes Island.
