PRM April 2022 issue now online on both website and mobile App

The world is being exposed to the horrors of actual warfare as the Russian invasion of Ukraine come vividly into our television sets nonstop through all the news coverage on the ground by various news networks.  In this issue, Rotary Magazine’s German and Austrian teams compiled a report revealing the extent of Rotary’s movement and activities within the second largest country in Europe, Ukraine.

While the first Rotary clubs in the country were chartered in the 1930s, many were forced to disband or be dissolved because of conflicts in the area or forcefully dissolved during the period of Communist rules.

The father of R.I.’s CEO and general secretary, John Hewko, played an important role in the revival of Rotary in Ukraine after the country declared independence in 1991.  Lubomyr “Lu” Hewko helped to charter the first Rotary Club in Kyiv and also became a charter member.

You can read more about the blossoming of the Rotary movement in Ukraine as well as the many projects clubs are undertaking in this month’s issue.  Let us all pray that the war will end soon and peace return to Ukraine, Europe and the world.
