Rotarians Building Businesses for Good: Success Stories from Zone 8
Enabling Business for Good | Leveraging Rotarian networks | Community-based interventions
This Town Hall highlights the examples of Rotary Clubs and their subsidiaries enabling and working towards ‘Business for Good’ by bringing together different stakeholders to participate in initiatives for the common good. Beginning in the Netherlands, but having since expanded globally, EndPlasticSoup is mobilizing massive waterway cleanup drives, partnering with innovative green businesses and even supporting sustainable livelihoods for fisherfolk and other community members. In Australia, we’ll hear from Connecting Manningham, a initiative that connected citizens, supported local businesses, and implemented community programs – filling gaps and building community, all during the COVID-19 lockdowns. Finally, in New Zealand, we’ll learn how Rotarians created a community of support to help skilled migrants to find gainful employment and adjust to their new homes: from interview practice and internships to mentorship during the job search. From these Rotarian’s stories, we’ll get practical advice and best practices in mobilizing resources and maximizing impact, by working with and for communities.
