Philippine Bamboo Foundation

Reforesting for the Future
Reforestation and conservation | Community-based interventions | Sustainable livelihoods

This Field Trip takes delegates on a learning journey that shows how the Philippine Bamboo Foundation is working to combat deforestation and create sustainable livelihoods through propagation of bamboo, one of the world’s most sustainable resources. Beyond the creation of mini forests that help the environment and mitigate climate change effects, Filipinos are enabled to capitalize on bamboo’s status as a high-value crop and create products – from food to furniture. By training communities to cultivate and utilize bamboo sustainably, the Foundation is empowering Filipinos to reforest for the future – theirs and the environments.
