The magnitude of the climate challenge can be daunting, especially as we ask ourselves: how much can one person do? This Masterclass confronts this mindset head-on. Drawing from their experience in incentivizing ‘green’ behaviors among Filipinos, our speakers will provide us with practical insights and lessons on how to successfully encourage environmentalism and promote the circular economy starting with a simple mantra: now in my backyard (NIMBY). In the same way that the collaboration of their two companies – a customer loyalty program and an environmental services community – led to the Trash to Cashback initiative, our speakers will demonstrate how taking care of our own ‘backyards’ and changing our behavior as individuals can lead to the mainstreaming of the circular economy, a critical mass of environmental action – and ultimately, a healthier earth.
