Future of Rotary – Empowering Rotarian Philanthropists

The Rotary Foundation: Empowering Philanthropy
Philanthropy | Institutional governance | Sustainable impact

The Rotary Foundation has gained a global reputation for being a force for good, with over $4 billion dollars deployed to interventions in health and education, women and children’s rights, peace, and inclusive economic growth. In this session, Chief Philanthropy Officer Eric Schmelling will share the success of TRF – including the award of more grants during the COVID-19 pandemic than at any other time in history – and the factors behind the Foundation’s success.

Displaying a keen awareness of its responsibility to donors and project beneficiaries, TRF believes that its commitment to accountability, trust-based partnerships, and true, measurable impact is the best way to empower donors. TRF’s track record of life-changing, sustainable projects is proof that every donation – whether small or large – has an exponential benefit to project beneficiaries. In this session, we hope to inspire further confidence in TRF and how we work with donors to maximize their contributions: through endowments and directed gifts, among others.

The Keynote will be followed by a special panel composed of Rotarians who will share more insight into TRF’s fundraising goals and current impact, how donors can become more involved by directing gifts, and how Rotary can inspire more philanthropy.
