Future of Rotary – Empowering Rotarian Women & Youth

Leadership and Allyship: Empowering Women and the Youth
Diversity and equality | Empowering youth and women leaders | Effective allyship

This special Breakout Session on Empowering Women and the Youth will feature global leaders driving initiatives to change the world.

Youth leaders from Bye Bye Plastic Bags, including co-founder Melati Wijsen, will inspire attendees with how they built a global movement to promote environmental conservation. In Bali, BBPB has gone above and beyond, also creating sustainable livelihoods, empowering women, and uplifting communities. BBPB has built on their experience to create Youthtopia, a global community of youth changemakers who inspire and learn from each other.

Marcella Hansch will speak about the technological and ecological inspiration behind her organization, Everwave. Everwave aims to prevent plastic from entering our waterways, and inspire and educate citizens to become aware of the threat to our oceans and rivers.

The Keynotes will be followed by a special panel composed of Rotarians who will speak about the Breakout Session theme, providing insights on the diverse challenges that girls and the youth face today, as well as how Rotarians can come together to empower them and develop future leaders.
