From shanties by one of the Philippines’ most polluted rivers to clean and safe homes: this Field Trip tells the story of how tenacity, ambition, and cooperation among Rotarians, the government, and private companies uplifted the lives of informal settlers living by the Paranaque River – and how this initiative has expanded into multiple communities in different locations. You will hear firsthand how Filipino families were given a new lease on life through safe and affordable housing, proper sanitation, livelihood opportunities, and even support for education and healthcare. Beyond just building homes, this Field Trip shows us how Rotary Foundation built true communities, where families can thrive.
