Food Security & Sustainability: What’s the Situation & What Should We Do?
Food security and agriculture | Social enterprise | Development

In this Fireside Chat, our speakers will dialogue on their shared belief in the power of targeted social, economic, and environmental interventions to achieve food security and sustainability–while challenging each other’s point of view. On the one hand, we have the founder of an agriculture-oriented, community-based social enterprise; on the other, we have a development and environmental expert from the Asian Development Bank. In understanding the convergence and divergence of these organizations’ efforts towards a zero-hunger, zero-waste future, we ask: How different are community-based, for-profit interventions from large-scale multilateral ones? How can an inclusive business achieve scale? Conversely: how can a multilateral development bank understand the personal impacts of its interventions?
