Rotarians Driving Sustainability for Good: Success Stories from Zone 1
Volunteerism | Social Leadership | Community partnership and empowerment

This Town Hall highlights success stories from Rotary Clubs and their subsidiaries who have embodied the principles of ‘Sustainability for Good’ by bringing about sustainable changes to communities and empowering vulnerable sectors. In Bangladesh, Rotarians constructed separate sanitation facilities to provide girls with a space to manage their menstrual hygiene – addressing a cause of both high drop-out rates and illness. In Indonesia, a land transformation and reclamation project transformed a community’s health and economic conditions: transforming swampland into fertile soil for farming. Finally, in Pakistan, Rotarians mobilized a wide network, including target beneficiaries, to create a model community for underprivileged and displaced families – a sustainable way of living, with needs such as shelter, sanitation, power, health, education, and livelihood addressed. Through their stories, we’ll hear how Rotarian leadership and volunteerism addressed real and pressing problems with truly sustainable solutions.
