Rotary Club of Zamboanga City Central successfully held different programs to help families survive the pandemic and life beyond it
Last September 9, the Rotary Club of Zamboanga City Central partnered with the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 9 headed by PLTCOL Restituto A Pangusban to help Barangay Tumitus in Zamboanga City. The group coordinated with the respective Barangay Council, 904th Maneuver Company, RMFB 9, Technical Support Company, RMFB 9 and 74th IB, and PA. Barangay Chairman Bobong L Dunda and his Barangay officials/tanods welcomed the group wherein, through everyone’s participation, they were able to successfully hold different activities like a feeding program, livelihood program, and an inter-faith awareness session at the said area.
The project is a non-lethal operation and a holistic approach in answering the need of diverse situations with families facing different facets of struggles and inconveniences of life. It was attended by more or less 100 residents of the said barangay. The minimum health standards (wearing of face masks, social/physical distancing, etc) were strictly observed throughout the duration of the activity. In support of such, the club donated face masks, face shields and a gallon of alcohol to be used by the health workers at Tumitus Health Center located at a far-flung area in Zamboanga City.
