Philippine Rotary Magazine Foundation, Inc Chair Samuel Pagdilao Jr
First Off

July 2019: Samuel Pagdilao Jr welcomes new beginnings

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the new Rotary Year, 2019-2020!

I am grateful and honored to receive this position. The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Philippine Rotary Magazine Foundation Incorporated (PRMFI) is no easy task, but one that requires honor, dedication, discipline, and of course, passion. I aim to embody these traits and I pray hard for the strength to lead and push our organization on to the next level. To attain this, I am asking everybody’s support especially at this time when it is going through some significant changes ushered in by the amendments to its By-Laws.

While you can find these in our Philippine Rotary Magazine, we need to make it more appealing to females and millennials who are the objects of serious recruitment by Rotary. It needs to cover more of the services, projects, and activities of Rotary clubs as well, as well as its service partners, like the Rotaract.

We must improve circulation. By digitizing the Philippine Rotary Magazine and creating a downloadable file for our members, we will effectively cut down on the cost for the magazine’s creation, printing, and distribution, as well as open the doors for more and more individuals to download the document and even share it, thus, generating mass awareness and appeal.

The bottom line is we need to ensure that the magazine continues to connect all Rotarians, and the Rotary districts and clubs with each other and to the world through inspiring stories and Rotary information. The PRMFI should continue to connect and work with the PCRG, the Philippine Rotary Friendship Golfing Fellowship and other Rotary action or fellowship groups.

This will be our first step. As I enter this new role and take on new challenges and tasks fit for this position, I would like to assure you that the foundation I have is still the same, and that is a heart of service—for Rotary, for my fellow Rotarians, and for the people we seek to serve and help.

Congratulations and BIG thanks to the outgoing board led by PDG Ed Chiongbian for a job well done!
