A Walker for Tatay Tomas

In partnership with Hakid ni San Jose sa Parokya it Numancia, Rotary Metro Kalibo (D3850) was able to change the life of
Tatay Tomas

Rotary responds. One day, RAC Leonor Rosales saw a disabled elderly man at the church. Using a chair to aid him to walk, the man slowly walked his way to his home. RAC Rosales trailed behind with a clear intention to help.

Rotary Metro Kalibo (D3850) and Hakid ni San Jose sa Parokya it Numancia responded right away. The organizations visited Tatay Tomas Navarra of Brgy. Tabayun, Banga, Aklan. They soon found out that he was 67 years old, single, speech-impaired and have been a polio victim since birth. He is a regular Sunday churchgoer and sells sweepstakes for a living.

He was very much delighted to receive his new walker.

Special thanks to St. Joseph The Worker Parish and Sto. Nino Seminary Rev. Fathers Vincent Cajilig and Ritche Sarabia for the assistance and to RAC Leonor Rosales for the referral and instrument. Because of their equal commitment, Rotary Metro Kalibo (D3850) was able to be of service to Tatay Tomas.

A random act of kindness!
