Rotary Club of Kabankalan begins first of many tree-planting activities to help address environmental issues in its community
Last August 29, members of the Rotary Club of Kabankalan led by President Elma Bachita and Vice President At-At Ramos went to visit Tagbunon in Barangay Carol-an.
The purpose of the visit was not only to check up on the residents there but to also plant 372 trees in order to help the community be more food secure.
The program aims to meet one of Rotary’s Area of Focus, care for the environment. The goal is to plant 1,000 trees within the next few months so just a few more is needed to complete the project. All seedlings were provided by the City of Kabankalan from its very own nurser.
