On International Coastal Cleanup Day, Rotary Club of Zamboanga City Central (RCZC Central) showed up once more for the environment
RCZC, together with the Rotaract and Interact Clubs of UZ-CES, led by example in cleaning up the country’s natural playgrounds.
Every year, the International Coastal Cleanup Day is celebrated on the third Saturday of September. As an archipelago, the Philippines has many coastal areas that are usually overcrowded with locals and tourists. Sadly, the presence of human activity often leads to improper waste disposal that destroys the beauty of nature. RCZC Central and Rotaractors showed up on this important day to take out the trash and restore the cleanliness of a nearby coastal area.
This activity is also in support of World Cleanup Day and is in line with supporting the environment, one of Rotary’s areas of focus.
