Rotary Club of Metro Kalibo supports literacy

Schools are still adjusting to the new normal set-up brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. Enter the Rotary to help at least ease the lives of teachers and students navigating uncharted waters

Last September 29, Rotary Club of Metro Kalibo showed its support for literacy. President Rosie Reyes turned over A4 coupon bonds to some schools within the community. This is to aid schools in the making of modules for the new normal. Schools included are Aliputos Elementary School, Dongon Elementary School, Camanci Norte Elementary School, Madyaas Institute, and Numancia Integrated School Alternative Learning Center (NIS ALS).

When asked what their goal was, the club’s answer was simple: Our goal is to support basic education and literacy and increase adult literacy. We support education for all children and literacy for children and adults, too.

Also present during the turnover were Past President Johnny Retamar, President-Elect Loida Enero and Rotarian Romy Reyes.
