Rotary Club of Zamboanga City North held a back to back run to End Polio Now

The Rotary Club of Zamboanga City North, in partnership with Zamboanga Trail Runners (ZTR), conducted a two-day event last October 24 to 25, dubbed as “End Polio Now Run.”

ZTR and Rotary Club of Zamboanga City North did a back to back run covering 14 kilometers from Jardin Maria Clara to the Peak of Muruk on the first day and 22 kilometers from the same starting point to Sitio Bandera on the second day. 15 participants joined the first day and it doubled on the second day with 35 participants on board. The objective of the said activity was to provide awareness on Rotary’s fight to eradicate polio forever.

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the solid north visited Mercedes Health Center to witness the vaccination of 30 infants. Exercising health protocols, the Rotarians distributed a gallon of alcohol, disposal surgical/face masks and liquid hand soap to the staff of the health center. They also handed out snacks and End Polio goodies consisting of diapers, alcohol, disposal face/surgical masks and hand soap.

The last agenda was to visit the End Polio mural unveiled last September 2020.
