Meet Project WALK’s newest applicant, Tatay Pede Berdonar

Last December 13, Rotary connected with the newest WALK applicant, Tatay Pede Berdonar, a 61-year-old fisherman from Barangay Nagustan, Nabas, Aklan

A fisherman for more than four decades, Tatay Pede’s life changed when a vehicle hit him and the driver fled the scene.

Wishes of Aid and Limbs, in partnership with Fort Atkinson Interact Club (Wisconsin, USA) and sister club Rotary Club of Forbes Park (D3830), has committed to assist him in his pending claim for damages against the at-fault driver. Tatay lost all hope for a moment, but when he met fellow amputees Past President Ricky Molo and Rotarian Add Ryan Rommel Martires, a glimmer of it was regained. He could now smile again like he used to.

Rotary Project WALK continually assists and propels the dignity of those who lost their limbs, either inborn or by accident, so that they will become productive citizens of society.
