Rotarians Send Help via KMJS of GMA 7

On December 13, 2020, six Transforming Presidents namely (TP) Guia de Leon, TP Vangie Mandia, TP Amy Lea, TP Eva Beltran, TP Zaldy Reyes and TP Cloyd Velasco were acknowledged at the top-rating television show in the country, the Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho or KMJS of GMA 7. The TPs are from Rotary International Districts 3820 and 3770

A week prior to the airing, TP Guia had learned that a very touching story will be featured at KMJS—the life of a beautiful young mother living with a rare disease. From a simple pimple in her nose on December 2019, her whole face got infected.

She told this rare case to the aforementioned friends, and their hearts were moved. They immediately sent help. Aside from the monetary assistance, TP Guia also went to go shopping for gifts like milk for her newborn baby, clothes for her, stuffed toys, diaper, photo frame, groceries, and some surprising items.

On December 11, TP Guia represented their group at GMA 7 Jamboree at Quezon City. She was cordially assisted by her friend, Mr. Francis of KMJS.

Even though they were not expecting to be recognized at all, Past President (PP) Michiko Licuanan, PP JP Callos, PP Win Serrano, President-Elect Julius Conanan and Rotarian Jimmlyod Ilagan were also acknowledged at the last part of the show. Their intention was pure, to make the mother and her family extra jolly this Season of Giving.

Indeed, with or without the media mileage, this team is always ready to make their recipients truly happy. Christmas, after all, is all about yesterday’s delicateness, the overwhelming love of today, and tomorrow’s contagious optimism.
