Last December 13, Rotary Club of Metro Kalibo promoted safe water and clean toilets
While very few people die of thirst, millions die from preventable waterborne diseases and lack of improved sanitation facilities. Rotarians all over the world continues to remind communities of the importance of hand-washing and other good hygiene habits.
Through RC Metro Kalibo’s new international partner, President Brian Whisenant of Rotary Club of South West Platteville (D6250) Wisconsin, USA, the members were able to fulfill Dapdap Elementary School’s dream. The construction of Project WASH, a toilet for both male and female with water connection, was sealed.
The Signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the club and Dapdap Elementary School happened at the event as well. Present were Head Teacher Graciela Makiling & Teacher Nerie Ann Sodusta, and in lieu of President Rosie Reyes, was Public Image/International Service Director Megs Lunn and Club Secretary Past President Ricky Molo.
Witnessing the signing were Punong Barangay Jose Rey Tana, Parent’s Teacher Association (PTA) President Ernelito Valencia, and Rotarian Add Ryan Rommel Martires.
