Rotary Clubs turn over communication equipment to local fire station

Last February 5, Rotary responded to one of the phases of disaster preparedness by providing a set of communication equipment to a local fire station

The Rotary Club of Metro Kalibo (D3850) partnered with the Rotary Club of Makati (D3830), Rotary Club of Midtown Diliman (D3780) and Fort Atkinson Interact Club (D6250) of Wisconsin, USA to help the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Banga Station. The clubs pooled money to be able to purchase communication equipment and donate it to the said station.

RC Metro Kalibo President Rosie Reyes signed the Memorandum of Understanding on the Provision of Communication Equipment with OIC Marshal SFO1 Felinor N. Suco. Witnessing the signing were President-Elect Loida Enero, Public Image Director Megs Lunn, TRF Director Johnny Retamar, Rotarian Romy Reyes and BFP SFO1 Cris Jojie Ureta. 

Receiving the said donation was Aklan BFP CINSP Patricio Collado and BFP Banga OIC Fire Marshal SFO1 Felinor N Suco.

The station was officially activated last February 3 through the support of the Aklan Provincial Government, Aklan Sagguniang Panlalawigan, Department of Local and Interior Government (DILG), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Regional Director (Region 6) SSUPT Jerry D Candido and LGU Banga through the leadership of Mayor Erlinda Maming.
