Last Feb 6, the Rotary Club of Zamboanga City Central, together with its partner the Rotary Club of Central Stockton in California, USA, officially turned over an artesian well to a community in need
The Rotary Club of Zamboanga City Central and the Rotary Club of Central Stockton mounted a ceremonial opening of its Rehabilitation of Artesian Well Project at Barangay Calabasa, Zamboanga City.
The project started last November 2020 and after months of construction, the artesian well is now fully functional and operational. 3,000 residents can now utilized the safe water source. All they have to do is coordinate with Barangay Calabasa Chairman Expedito Rebollos.
Before the project, the said barangay did not have any Zamboanga Water District System and would sometimes just wait for rain to have a water supply for their day to day needs.
Special thanks to Rtn. Susan Galbadores for making the project a success and to Liz Penaflor for serving lunch after the turnover.
The project is in line with Rotary’s area of focus on water and sanitation.
