Rotary Stories: An Introspection

Rtn Guia de Leon, RPIC Zone 10A Secretary shares the impact of maximizing the online platform to spread inspiration through Rotary Stories

I can sleep now but I won’t. I am truly tired but I will write still. Why?

Because there are just so many Rotary Stories that are meant to be shared with the world.

In fact, one member asked me to rechannel my energy to “Project Reports.” This is, after all, essential for the Awards Committee.
However, I smilingly told her that I am not really into awards. With all honesty, awards are just icing on the cake. Personally, I am keen to write more and more of our Rotary Stories in any media available because they have a ripple effect.

You see, when Rotary Stories are being posted in personal social media pages, regardless of grammar mishaps, the possibilities of reaching out become endless.

We will never know who, across the globe, we are inspiring. We will never know how extensive its causal sequence for we have already thrown it out in the air—hoping to touch lives timelessly and seamlessly.

Maybe someone will google “People of Action” ten days or ten years from now, and our very own projects or ideas may inspire that person. And what if that person happens to be a big part of an effective organization for humanitarian efforts? We just won’t know, but we can always aim for a legacy like that.

Yes, even at wee hours, I am opening up not because I wanted to, but because I have to. Sleep is calling me now, but my passion won’t allow me to rest without whispering my loving thoughts in the big unknown.

Finally, may we bear in mind that we just can not limit ourselves to a finite set of blessings. We, Rotarians, can be limitless. We just need to tell the world all our Rotary Stories. And yes, we must start now.
