RC Metro Kalibo partner with Pilipinas Run to mount Swabeng Padyak

Cycling is one of the best ways to get exercise, see sights and reduce one’s carbon footprint.

However, cyclists face a host of hazards. They often must share the road with vehicles where accidents could happen anytime even on a designated path. With the increasing number of cyclists because of the pandemic, it is more necessary than ever that bicyclists—and drivers—take safety precautions.

Rotary Club of Metro Kalibo and Pilipinas Run hosted a SWABENG PADYAK live forum last May 20 via Zoom that was streamlined at the partner’s FB pages and Channels 1 and 24 of Kalibo Cable Community Channel.

Guest speakers were Former Commissioner of Commission on Elections and a Certified Cyclist enthusiast Atty. Gregorio “GOYO” Larrazabal (Ormoc City) and Certified International Triathlon Union Coach Lou Ann Hamada Ramos (Baguio City). They shared tips on how to ride safely with bikes, what bike and proper gears to buy and more lessons on the road.
