The Mangrove Planting Activity was a successful event last July 2, 2022 at Katunggan Eco Park, Leganes, Iloilo City. The Rotary Club of Iloilo City led by Pres Rio Edpan, together with Rotaract President Mark Cabalisa and Interact Club of Iloilo City led by Shanly Rose Soquias, respectively, continues its service by taking small extra steps towards achieving a greener and sustainable community with the help and supervision of the LGU of Leganes Mayor Jun Jaen.
The activity started with a very informative orientation from LGU Leganes represented by Mr Wilson Batislaon. Each of the participants was given knowledge about mangrove trees and how they can be adopted and grown in certain areas. This was followed by the actual tree planting of more than 50 propagules and ended with the thankful remarks from PP Lyle Bartolome, also a Vice Mayor of Municipality of Leganes. The said activity aims to promote and restore our own natural resources so we and the younger generations can benefit from them.“To plant a tree is to believe in tomorrow” – Audrey Hepburn
