RC Metro Kalibo leads “FREE PATAK POLIO” initiative

Rotary launched its PolioPlus programme in 1985. It was the first initiative to tackle global polio eradication through the mass vaccination of children. Rotary has contributed more than $2 billion and countless volunteer hours to immunize more than 3 billion children in 122 countries.

Together with our partners on the ground, like the Department of Health, Municipal and Rural Health Units, Barangay Health workers, etc., we have reduced polio cases by 99.9 percent worldwide and we won’t stop until we end the disease for good.

On October 19, 2022, Rotary Club of Metro Kalibo led by current president Romeo T. Reyes, Jr.  did the OPV or Oral Polio Vaccine “FREE PATAK POLIO” initiative held at the Rural Health Unit of LGU Numancia, Poblacion, Numancia, Aklan.
