On Oct. 21, 2023, the Rotary Club of Iloilo City (D3850) partnered with the Iloilo City Government launched the Boys and Girls Week Celebration last week, where 70 plus high school students assumed significant positions as city officials for a week, including the mayor, vice mayor, city councilors, department officials, and office heads.
Assumption Iloilo’s Zen Jollie Heler served as City Mayor and advocated for youth participation in outreach programs to raise societal awareness and promote good citizenship.
The Boys and Girls Week Celebration has been empowering young leaders and promoting public service for almost 49 years. Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas welcomed the activity, highlighting its importance in developing students’ skills in public service, valuable exposure and leadership. Iloilo City celebrates Boys and Girls Week from October 16-20.
At the Awards Night, some of their city counterparts and parents were also present to celebrate its success. Congratulations RC Iloilo City our sister club, especially to B&G Week Chair Charm Ganzon-Mahinay for putting on a fantastic show at the Awards Night hosted in District 21, Iloilo City. It is with great pride that RC Iloilo City is the home club of District Governor Nominee (DGN) Winston Santos for RY 2025-2026.
