This Rotarian Queen seeks to raise awareness on mental health

Meet the 2018 Mrs. Universe Finest Woman-Continental Evangeline “Vangie” Jaehn from the Rotary Club of Makati Gems.

Evangeline “Vangie” Jaehn reigned supreme over 200 aspirants nationwideall married women with different advocacies—and won the crown that fateful night. On her end, Jaehn is a mental health advocate whose primary goal is to raise awareness on depression by producing a documentary or a short film that will tackle the subject matter.

It might seem easy to book a team and get the camera rolling but it is not a piece of cake for a busy woman like Jaehn. Aside from the crown, Jaehn also wears two other hats: a restaurateur and a designer. She founded Spaghetti Factory in 2003 and has been managing it since then. Now she has also dove into fashion designing, having recently put up her eponymous label, Vangie Jaehn, for custom-made fashion. She is even pushing it further in October by pursuing a fashion design course in Milan.

You might think fashion designing and food are two different worlds but Jaehn focuses on the similarities. Both a creative process for her, the pattern is similar: an inspiration, an appreciation of history, and a willingness to experiment in the selection of tools, may it be fabric or ingredients.

Know more about this impassioned creative in the July issue of the Philippine Rotary Magazine.
