Rotary Club of Las Piñas Central holds Relief Operations

As the country battles against the COVID-19 pandemic, Rotary Club of Las Piñas Central has stepped up to help underprivileged communities affected by the lockdown

Since March 16, 2020, the Philippine government has placed areas, depending on the level of risk, under a community quarantine.

As part of the extreme measures, classes and public transportation have been suspended while most offices, malls and other business establishments have been ordered closed. All have been mandated to stay at home with only one family member given a Quarantine Pass by the Punong Barangay for essential errands to be done outside. As a result, most families have lost their means of livelihood.

The support being provided by the local and national government is not enough to feed most of the affected families. Thus, the Rotary Club of Las Pinas Central on its online meeting last April 1, 2020 has decided to extend support and assistance to its Rotary Community Corp (RCC) of Sarao Compound Zapote Las Pinas Central by providing relief packages to augment their food requirements.

The relief goods had benefited 80 families from RCC inclusive of community-based Rotaractors.
