Rotary Club of San Pedro South (RCSPS) and the Rotaract San Pedro South (RACSPS) gathered once more to hold an exciting event, the “KALEIDOSCOPE: Fun Mural Painting For A Cause.”
At 7 o’ clock in the morning of July 25, Transforming President (TP) Guia Lopez De Leon, Assistant Secretary Christine Galinea, Youth Service (YS) Director Mykish Sha-Sha Sacro and YS Assistant Director Ylemre Gallejos Encinas met up with the Rotaractors at Jollibee Pacita, San Pedro. On time were RACSPS members namely District 3820 Professional Development Chair Piolo Gadiana, President Steffany Echanes, and Secretary Mabeh Angelia Matienzo.
Owners of the site fortunately gave permission to Past President (PP) Shirley Tejero, making way for the RCSPS Team to paint the walls, all for free.
After doing the layout and bonding with the tricycle drivers (note: with “free pandesal for drivers” project), the team painted with tons of fun. This activity proved to be a good avenue in getting to know how creative and powerful the youngsters are.
The first part was done last July 17, with Charter President Julian Adique and The Rotary Foundation Chair Aljohn Marco Mariscal of the Rotaract San Pedro All Star (RACSPA). PP Shirley and PP Nanding Bongao were also present when they painted the “doors of opportunities.”
And on July 25, Secretary Mabeh led the team with the “End Polio Now” art. Meanwhile, YS Director Mykish was in charge with the emblem. At around 11 o’ clock in the morning, they were able to finish the second part.
TP Guia then discussed her forthcoming projects for the elders, for the hungry, and for the oppressed. RACSPS also shared their plans and program over coffee, sandwiches, nachos and fries. Afterwards, they recorded an MTV for the “End Polio Now” crusade being headed by the District Polio Chair RC DeLos Reyes.
Together, the club beautifies its surroundings while promoting noteworthy projects for the community.
