RC Las Piñas Provides Remedy to Distance Learning Handicap

The Rotary Club of Las Piñas (RCLP) has forged a partnership with Captain Albert Aguilar National High School (CAANHS) to produce printed learning modules to be given out to students who cannot afford to buy the necessary gadgets nor access the internet for online learning under the Learning Delivery Modalities (LDM) of the Department of Education.

Through a Memorandum of Agreement, the RCLP will donate a duplicator machine which costs Php105,000.00, while the school shall shoulder the cost of consumables like bond paper, ink, and manpower to operate the machine in producing the printed modules.

A survey conducted nationwide on June 1 to July 30 through the Learner’s Enrolment and Survey Form (LESF) revealed that only about 10% of public school learners have the necessary gadgets and access to internet for online learning. So in order for DepEd to reach the poorest of the poor families who have no gadgets nor internet access, RCLP and CAANHS will print learning modules to be given out to students. The plan calls for parents/guardians to pick up the printed modules in the school or at other designated  kiosks according to a pre-announced schedule.

As of September 19, four weeks of printed modules have been produced and distributed to the students through their parents/guardians.
