Rotary Club of Zamboanga City North and the Rotary Anns Club of Zamboanga City North collaborate to offer a free skills training

With the help of partner organizations, the Rotary Club of Zamboanga City North and the Rotary Anns Club of Zamboanga City North were able to conduct a free skills training in their community

The two clubs coordinated with the Department of Education, Talon-Talon Elementary School, Rotaract Club of Zamboanga City North and Interact Club of Ateneo de Zamboanga Senior High School for its latest project: a free skills training for Bread and Pastry and Dressmaking to selected constituents of Barangay Talon-Talon.

There were 30 participants, 20 for bread and pastry and 10 for dressmaking, all hailing from Barangay Talon-Talon. To recall an atrocious history, the said barangay has been heavily affected by peace and conflict problems that unfortunately lead to the 2013 Zamboanga Siege. The event showcased the resiliency of the people of Zamboanga City.

The club used the facilities in Talon-Talon National High School, a recipient of a Technical Vocational and Livelihood Project (Global Grant No. 1986740) in partnership with Rotary Club of Sacheon Gukwa, RI District 3590, South Korea.

This project was a great opportunity to leverage vocational skills to help resolve peace and conflict, meet sustainable development goals and promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment, and decent work for all.
