“Our Tree, Our Future,” Rotary Club of Bacolod North’s Environmental Legacy

In recognition of how important trees are to every community, the Rotary Club of Bacolod North, in partnership with ERH Gawad Kalinga (GK) Village, planted 100 sproutlings on the vast grounds of ERH GK Village, Barangay Sum-ag, Bacolod City, last September 4, 2021.

Observing health protocols and the distance required for growing trees, Life-Changing President Kendall Ang led the Rotarians and GK residents to spread themselves out, dividing the area into different spots for planting.  This joint effort is in line with the hope that these planted trees would someday become a refuge for different living things and a place where people can connect with nature.

Face shields donated by Past President Lito Sion were also distributed that day to help residents protect themselves more against Covid-19 threats.

A fellowship celebrating the event was held at May’s Garden hosted  by Past President Ramon Uy, with all health protocols observed.
