Rotary Club of Metro Bacolod mounts Life Changing Project Kamay in ETCS-1

Michael Blackburn said, “Hand Hygiene is arguably our most important life skill. So Teach it well and Teach it often.” Indeed clean hands are safe hands, in relation to this, Rotary Club of Metro Bacolod’s goal is to provide proper hygiene and sanitation to those who lack the facility in response to one of the seven areas of focus of Rotary International.

The Rotary Club of Metro Bacolod and Rotary Club of Manila Bay conducted the Turn-Over and Signing of Deed of Donation of The Group Handwashing Facility together with DepEd and Education and Training Center School 1 in Bacolod City last March 10, 2022. The total beneficiaries of this project is 3,000 people.

This Project Wash is timely especially that Covid19 is still in surge. Applying alcohol is not enough to get rid of the virus and bacteria in our hands. It is important to wash our hands the proper way.

It is necessary that a school has an ample amount of hand washing facilities especially that the teachers are already on duty at the school. Not only is it useful for the personnel of the school, but also for the visitors, especially the parents who are getting the modules of their kids.

The turnover ceremony was led by President Jeinz Salgado and Sir Pedro G. Crispe Jr., PhD, principal of ETCS I, together with Rotarians Chinky Dulaca, Mike Tolbo, PP Allan Magallanes, PP Jake Dumapi, PP Joel Jaranilla and PDG Jude Doctora, plus the other school personnel. After the turnover ceremonies, the Rotarians together with the teachers demonstrated the proper way of washing our hands.

The Rotary Club of Metro Bacolod believes that this project will be very useful for the school especially that the Department of Education is planning to conduct face-to-face classes in the future.
