Project Walk Prosthetics Casting for Amputees

WALK INC with Physicians for Peace Philippines (PFP), Rotary Club of Metro Kalibo (D3850) and Rotary Club of Forbes Park (D3830), had a successful Project WALK prosthetics casting for 25 amputees last April 30, 2022 in Kalibo, Aklan.

A team of six (6) PO technicians came from UERMMMCI Orthotics and Prosthetics Department and were hosted by Infant Jesus Academy Kalibo campus. The list of amputees were listed prior and during the pandemic. Most of them are functional and by giving them legs to walk, they will become more useful and productive.

This project is also in partnership with the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center, Inc. (UERMMMCI), sister clubs Rotary Club of QC Media Tech (D3780), Rotary Club of West Davao (D3860), mother clubs Rotary Club of Kalibo and Rotary Club of Roxas (D3850), in collaboration with Rotaract Club of Metro Kalibo, Rotary Club of Metro Roxas, ALS Interact Club of Metro Kalibo and RCC of Metro Kalibo, together with our media partners – Kalibo Cable TV Network and Love Radio. Wafeford Interact Club and Southwest Tours also joined us.

Life Changing Pres. Loida M. Enero is beyond grateful to the people behind WALK Inc. –  Founding President Atty. Ed Escano, VP External Dr. Josephine Robredo-Bundoc, who is also the Program Director of Physicians for Peace Philippines, and WALK Executive Director  PP Megs Lunn, for making it happen. Special thanks to our club’s PWD Committee Chair PP Ricky Molo.
They will get their prosthetic legs in 3 weeks or so and we can’t wait to see them walking free.

Alone we can do little. Together we can make a miracle. Together, we Serve to Change Lives.
